Studying aspects of design, form, proportions and upmost craftsmanship have driven home how important and tactile joinery can be within a property. This has culminated in setting up a workshop focusing on all aspects of architectural and decorative joinery, from complex and sensitive conservation, through to bespoke pieces for both modern and period settings.

In continuing my learning and appreciation of traditional crafts, I was fortunate enough to have been accepted onto the William Morris Craft Fellowship, a training program set up by The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. Founded in 1987, SPABs unique annual scheme takes on up to 4 dedicated crafts people each year, designed to broaden their skills and experience through an intensive programme, giving the Fellows the chance to travel countrywide to learn on site from breadth of specialist craftspeople, architects and contractors working in building conservation. Through experiencing a huge array of vernacular crafts, such as thatching, lime work, stained glass and blacksmithing to name a few, the course given me not only a more holistic view on conservation, but also connected me to a much wider network of passionate professionals in all aspects of craft.

With over 15 years experience in both craft and design, I began my career as an antiques restorer, learning all aspects of traditional cabinetmaking from carving and veneer work, through to finishing and French polishing. This was combined with college courses in Carpentry and Joinery, and later studying Architecture at University. In that time, I have been fortunate enough to have been trained by and work alongside a wide scope of passionate craftspeople and professionals.
